Elizabeth Wilson comes from a family of musicians. Her mother was an Opera Singer and all of 6 her siblings studied music. Elizabeth went to Harvard University where she used her talent on both the violin and viola as Concertmaster of the Harvard Symphony orchestra and Principal viola of the Harvard Chamber Orchestra. After graduating she moved to Italy for 3 years, where she played assistant Concertmaster of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under Maestro Zubin Mehta. She returned to the US to study with Queen Elizabeth winner: Berl Senofsky in Baltimore, and then moved to Los Angeles in 1991 to study with Abrahm Shtern. Elizabeth has a typical freelance career, performing with many varied groups: LA PHIL, LA OPERA, Pasadena Symphony, LA Master Chorale, String Family Players ( an educational ensemble). She has performed at the Aspen Music Festival, Yale Chamber Music Festival and the Zichron Ya’ackov Chamber Music Festival and is very active in performing chamber music locally.
