Commissions

WORKS COMMISSIONED BY DILIJAN CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT SERIES

Dilijan has commissioned 54 new works by Armenian and non-Armenian composers. It is a great testament to the legacy of the series. that though born within Dilijan, many of these compositions are seeing life outside of Zipper Hall and the Concert Series. These original works are being performed globally, in concerts and festivals in Armenia, Europe, and across the US, completely independent of Dilijan.

We take great pride in being a producer of new works, as it allows the Armenian community to add its voice to the world repertoire of Chamber Music.

Neither Dilijan nor the Lark Society could plant these seeds in the classical music canon without the partnership of great music lovers in our community. We will be amiss if we did not express our heartfelt gratitude to our far-seeing donors, who committed their support for the creation of new compositions (see full list of commissions below).

We wish to acknowledge the generous benefaction of honorable underwriters like

– Dr. & Mrs. Hovsep and Hilda Fidanian
– Dr. & Mrs. Harmon and Lucine Agbabian-Hubbard
– Mr. & Mrs. Justus and Helen Schlichting
– Mr. Haig Bagerjian

Also to corporate partners like

– Hamazkayin Cultural Organization
– Soli Deo Gloria
– Los Angeles Philanthropic Committee for the Arts
– Chamber Music America
